My grandmother Hildegarde van Roijen was an artist in Washington D.C. and was a major influence on me. She ignited my passion for art.We spent a lot of time together in her studio creating.I visited many art museums with my grandmother and mother growing up. As a result of their influence, I quickly developed a passion for bright colors and eccentric abstract design.I like to surround myself with the happy vibrancy that color brings. Whenever I am creating colorful art I am at my most content.

Painting has become my solace. I find comfort in painting.I now paint with my daughters and find the creative process as good for them as it is for me. When things feel heavy, sometimes you just need to “bring in a little light.” I paint with the purpose of sparking joy and hope my work can bring joy to your home.
